Focus and Scope

The Multidisciplinary Journal of Educational Research (known by its Spanish acronym REMIE) is an Electronic four-monthly Journal of Hipatia Press that publishes research outcomes with significant contributions to the understanding and improvement of the educational processes. REMIE does not only collect research outcomes from different disciplines and methodological approaches, but also research carried out by interdisciplinar research teams. In this line, disciplinar and intedisciplinar works related to educational research will be welcome such as education, sociology, psychology, anthropology, history, philosophy, economics, linguistics, geography or political science.

This scientific Journal emerges with the need to get a response to the excessive compartmentalization of scientific knowledge that traditionally has existed in educational research arena in Spain and Latin America. It pretends to be an international space for discussion and critique through the presentation of theoretical and empirical evidences that could favour educational equity and the advancement of our societies.

REMIE is multilingual and publishes articles mainly in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

This journal, publishing three issues per volume year (February 15th, June 15th and October 15th) has two sections, one of articles and another of reviews. The  journal includes articles reporting results of scientific inquiries. Book reviews are of those most recent publications in the educational field, from different disciplines and of international interest. REMIE also publishes monographs about some specific themes from a multidisciplinar approach.

The authors also have to justify that, in case of a shared authorship, there was a full consensus of all the authors affected and that the article or book review has not been previously presented or published in other journals.

In the event that REMIE editors are made aware of any allegation of research misconduct, these allegations would be treated accordingly. REMIE editors will be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies whenever needed.
