Abstract

This study provides an overview of the main educational, social and political features of Maria Rosa Borràs life. The article tries to cover most of her contributions as a philosopher, a communist, a pacifist and a feminist. The narrated events took place between the decade of the 30s of the XX’ century and the first decade of the XXI century. The work methodology is mostly based on oral sources. In particular, a great deal of information comes from the long interview of Maria Rosa Borràs by Xavier Domenech that extended between the 08/02/00 and 14/03/00, with a total time of 9 hours and 40 minutes, and which is currently deposited at the Arxiu Històric de la CONC. Additionally, the memories of his husband, a close connoisseur of her written work, and in particular in the education field, have complemented the work. The report also provides a unique opportunity to revive the main political and social events of that period directly from the first-hand experience of the narration main character. Finally, being fully aware of the potential drawbacks of oral source reports, knowing that personal recalls tend to be biased and deceiving, we have also verified the accuracy of the mentioned historical events with the available bibliography.
